A Minnesota soldier surprised his stepdaughter with a special reunion — and it was all caught on camera!
Sergeant Tony Bryand and his stepdaughter Jenalia, 9, were reunited last weekend before Jenalia performed in the production White Christmas at the Chanhassen Dinner Theaters, according to NBC affiliate KARE.
Jenalia Valerio, who plays the general’s granddaughter in the production, initially believed she was bringing flowers to the host, Chanhassen Dinner Theaters said in a Reels release.
Little did she know that her father, who had spent 10 months deployed in Kuwait, had returned home in time for the holidays and was there to surprise her.
“I really think you deserve to have this, Jenalia,” the host said in a reunion video shared by the dinner theater. Then she added, “I know someone who wants to give them to you!”

Jenalia turned to see her stepfather Tony, in full uniform, standing behind her on the stage. She ran across the room and jumped into his arms as the audience cheered.
“A wonderful surprise happened on our stage over the weekend,” Chanhassen Dinner Theaters captioned their post.
Tony hadn’t seen his stepdaughter perform until that night, but he had to after their sweet moment.
“Thank you for your service, Sergeant!” the host said before delivering a bouquet of flowers to the happy couple.

Meanwhile, Tony was happy to create and share such a special moment with his stepdaughter, who told KARE he’s had a “really good bond with her” since he came into her life.
He graciously added that this will be “a memory we will never forget.”
