Somadas was born into a South Indian family. His father’s name is Haridasan. He married Surya in 2005. The couple has two daughters. After a few years of marriage, problems began to arise in their marital life, and they later divorced.

In 2008, he participated in the singing reality show “Creative Star Singer” as a contestant. Although he didn’t win the championship, he gained huge popularity through the show.

He got his big break in the music industry with the help of actor late Kalabhavan Mani. Somadas worked as a playback singer for actor Kalabhawan Mani and music director Salam.

Some of his hit songs include “Kuruvaal Kuruvi” in Annaarakkananum Thannaalaayathu (2010), “Dance Cheyyu Bayya” in Mr Perfect (2016) and “Ida Nenju” in Mannaamkattayum Kariyilayum (2017).
He subsequently participated in various live performances and events. On January 5, 2020, he entered the Bigg Boss 2 Malayalam house along with Rajini Chandy, Sujo Mathew, RJ Raghu and Reshma Rajan.

In one of the episodes of Bigg Boss Malayalam 2, the contestants were tasked to share a bit about their personal lives. Soumadas shared the story of his failed marriage and said he had to fight for custody of his children from his ex-wife Surya. Later, Surya made a live video on Facebook to defend himself and said:
Our questions started with his participation in Creative Star Singer. After the show ended, he gained a lot of fans and began having extramarital affairs with various women. I even saw offensive messages on his phone. When I asked, he started verbally and physically abusing me. He always hid the fact that he was married, and even the whole family would go to the show without me. He stayed in the United States for less than 5 years, only 2.5 years. It is completely wrong to say that I took five hundred thousand rupees from him. After all these years, I still haven’t seen my children, he declared, and I ran away with my lover. ”

Due to high blood pressure, high blood sugar, and high cholesterol, he had to quit “Bigg Boss Malayalam 2” (2020) midway and passed away due to cardiac arrest on January 31, 2021 (Sunday) as his condition worsened.
