In 2014, she and her friend Nicole Concessao founded the dance company “Team Naach”, teaching various dance forms such as Bollywood, hip-hop, belly fusion, classical fusion and freestyle to students in India and even abroad. The first class they took had only 20 students. Nicole and Sonal met in college in 2007 and became friends as they were members of the same dance team. After graduation, they continued to pursue their careers, but their passion for dance brought them together and they decided to form Team Naach. She used to have classes with Nicole in the studio twice a week, but she didn’t get to hang out with many students.

Their first video for the song Muqabala went viral on social media and they became very famous. Many students joined them through social media and started learning Kathak, hip-hop and belly dancing. In an interview, she spoke about this and said:
A new studio opened in Khar, Mumbai and as we both loved dancing we decided on an impulse to teach a class. To engage students, we posted a song on our Facebook page. We presented Prabhudeva’s Mukabala in the form of hip-hop, kathak and belly dance and it was loved online by our friends and college juniors. This marks our entry into the world of online dance. “
