Carrie Underwood was the master of a quick change on New Year’s Eve!
The country singer, 41, wore three different glitter and sequin looks as she performed a medley of her hit songs on ABC Dick Clark’s Rockin’ New Year’s Eve with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, December 31. Underwood seemed to achieve her fashion hat trick by shedding layers between her songs.
She first took the stage wearing a glittering black and gold robe with glittering fringe as she sang “Church Bells” while playing a matching guitar.
From there, she ditched the cape for a feathery, hot pink, sequin-style jacket that she wore over a shimmering silver pantsuit.

The lighter look paired nicely with her second song of the night: “Pink Champagne.” Fittingly, the Grammy winner performed the song while sitting in a giant champagne glass.
Finally, Underwood ditched the pink jacket to reveal an all-out sleek silver sequined suit, which she wore as she belted out her 2005 hit “Before He Cheats.”

Underwood — who should be a judge soon american idol 20 years after winning the title herself — she also shared that she’s a little nervous as she returns to the ABC competition series in a new role.
When host Seacrest asked if he preferred “being a contestant or a judge” on american idolshe replied, “Oh man, I mean nerves with both of them.”

She continued: “First I was living my dream, you know, I was just hoping for anything, just a fraction of this right here, but now I’ve come on the other side of it, and I’m still nervous. I’m nervous for them, but I’m also really excited .”
