Sophie Turner Drops ‘Wrongful Retention’ Claim Against Joe Jonas 3 Months After Reaching Custody Agreement

On Wednesday, a court dismissed the Game of Thrones star’s “unlawful detention” lawsuit against the singer, with whom he has two daughters.

Sophie Turner has dropped her “wrongful custody” claims against her estranged husband, Joe Jonas, over custody of their two daughters.

According to court documents obtained by PEOPLE on Wednesday, a U.S. judge granted the dismissal of the complaint after both stars signed a consent plan approved by a U.K. judge last week.

Last September, Turner, 27, sued Jonas for wrongful retention. She claimed that Jonas, 34, kept their daughters’ passports and did not allow them to return to England. The former couple share Delphine, 18 months, and Will, 3. The lawsuit against the musician called for the “immediate return of the children who were wrongfully taken or wrongfully retained,” and Turner’s legal team claims the “wrongful retention” began on Sept. 20.

On Wednesday, Jonas and Turner agreed to have the application dismissed “without prejudice and without attorneys’ fees, costs, expenses and/or disbursements awarded to either party” after their UK parenting agreement was approved on January 11.

On Sept. 25, 2023, the two reached a temporary agreement to keep their two daughters in New York, according to documents filed in New York and obtained by PEOPLE.
