Sophie Turner spreads the love!
In an interview with The Times, Turner opened up about her upcoming projects Joan and Terrible. Explaining that he would act alongside her Game of Thrones Kit Harington’s costar in the latter, revealed that she suggested him for the role.
“They were trying to find someone for the role, and I said, ‘You can’t not have Kit,'” she said. “It’s set during the Wars of the Roses, so we’ll probably be floating on clifftops in dresses again.”
The The dark phoenix star also talked about being a child actress, starting out GoT at only 15 years old.
“I would say to any parent, if your child wants to enter the industry, wait until their frontal lobe is formed, which is 25,” she offered her advice. “I would discourage them from getting into it before they can fully understand what it means.”

Turner has gone through tough times throughout her career, including battling depression and an eating disorder and later divorcing her now-ex-husband Joe Jonas in 2023 after four years of marriage and two children together. Looking back, she credited her GoT sister, Maisie Williams, who played Arya Stark, for helping her survive.
“Without her, I don’t know where I’d be,” she said, joking, “Somewhere in a den.”

However, Turner admitted that she is hard on herself in every project she works on. IN John, six-part drama series in which she plays a diamond thief called “The Godmother,” Turner said she was “hypercritical” of her performance.
“It’s just, ‘I could have done it better,'” she explained. “’Why does my face look like that? Why can’t I make an accent? Why can’t I do that?’”
“I’ve never been able to be glamorous and fun in any other project I’ve done,” Turner continued. “That’s such a big part Joanshine and glamour, so we paid a lot of attention to costumes, hairstyles, make-up…”

She talks about the personal transformation she experienced during filming John, Turner said her character taught her more about herself and who she wants to be.
“Joan changed me a lot,” she said. “Out of utter desperation comes so much will and ambition. The show came at a time in my life where I had to be ambitious and strong-willed and fight against the forces. It gave me a lot of strength.”
“She also taught me how to properly replace a purse ring,” she joked.
Joan airs in three parts on The CW on October 2nd, 9th and 16th at 9pm ET.
