South Park Tackles Rising Ozempic Use in All-New Paramount+ Special — See the First Look!

South Park he was never one to hesitate to tackle, well, any theme.

This time, the boundary-pushing animated program takes on the timely issue of using Ozempico for its next Paramount+ special.

An upcoming streaming event called South Park: The End of Obesitywill explore how the “emergence of new weight loss drugs” managed to have a “major impact on everyone in South Park,” the description for the special reveals.

“When Cartman is denied access to a life-changing drug, the kids jump into action,” the synopsis concludes.

In the teaser trailer for South Park: The End of Obesity, which comes out later this month, Stan’s dad Randy explains that “there are these new crazy drugs that people are using.” This is soon presented as a solution by the doctor who informs Cartman and his mother Liane that “it’s time for some drastic measures to reduce” the fourth grader’s weight.

“Have you heard of Semaglutide?” the doctor asks, prompting Cartman to also ask, “Semaglutides?”

“Ozempic, Mounjaro,” says the medical profession.

Although Cartman’s friend Kyle later points out that “this could be dangerous,” Cartman—who has stripped down to his underpants—says, “Let’s do it.”

“We’ve been navigating the American health care system,” notes their classmate Butters while they’re all on the school playground. “I almost died!”

South Park has been renewed through 2027, making it the longest-running scripted series on cable as it approaches its 30th season milestone.
