Southern Charm: Madison LeCroy Reveals Husband Brett Was Diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer, Which Put Having Kids 'on Pause'

Madison LeCroy’s first wedding anniversary with Brett Randle didn’t go off with the fanfare she’d hoped for.

The hairdresser, 34, revealed in the December 12 episode Southern charm that Brett, 38, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in late 2023, about a year after they married. “I thought, like, how? Like, I’m finally happy,” Madison said in a confessional interview. “It’s just terrifying.”

Madison said Brett was 3 cm. the node was removed, which got rid of the cancer, but he still had complications. “I feel like we can’t catch a fucking break,” Madison said in an on-camera interview.

After Brett sneezed while making pancakes with his son Hudson, Madison asks him, “How are you feeling?”

“Pretty good,” Brett replied.

Madison went on to ask Brett specifically what it felt like when he swallowed.

“I have to go to a specialist for that,” he said, explaining, “It’s two stages. I don’t know, so I had to go to the ENT and then probably have to do some kind of therapy.”

The firefighter described it as feeling “like a marble stuck” in his throat. “It’s okay. I’m getting used to it,” he added.

Madison said she only gave Hudson, 11, a detailed look at Brett’s health. “I didn’t go into detail about what cancer can do to someone,” she said. “And I try not to let Hudson see me emotional because, like, I have to be strong for my family.”

Last season, Madison talked about wanting to start trying to conceive a child with Brett. But on the Dec. 12 episode, Madison said that having a baby is “on hold for now” due to Brett’s cancer diagnosis. “Some days I just want to love a scream,” she admitted in the confessional.

Later in the episode, Jarrett “JT” Thomas claimed to Craig Conover and Shep Rose during a game of virtual golf at CHS Golf that Brett thought he and Madison slept together in Jamaica.

“I remember Madison FaceTimed me when she was in the Dominican Republic and I was like, why is she FaceTimeing me?” JT, 38, told Craig, 35, and Shep, 45: “Remember when she put on my blue stripes in Jamaica? I think Brett got a little weird when it all happened.”

Craig didn’t see it that way. “I don’t think he’s worried about you, though,” the Sewing Down South founder said.

JT, who resigned from the show last month, felt differently. “Then why are you confronting me with your wife to ask if we got together in Jamaica?” he said.

Craig considered JT’s suspicion a conspiracy theory. “I’m a sucker for a good conspiracy theory,” the Pillow talk said the author in a confessional conversation. “I don’t even like to use the word conspiracy theory, I think it’s derogatory to all those who know the truth out there. But man, it’s JT, he beats me.”

Shep took Craig’s side. “The way the gears turn in JT’s head, I’m not sure I want to know,” he told the cameras.

However, Craig really dug into JT when the real estate developer claimed he heard from Lev Bonaparte that Austen Kroll “had a relationship with another girl for a few months” while also dating girlfriend Audrey Pratt.

“I don’t care about Leva because Austen and Audrey are great,” Craig said.

JT thought Craig and Shep refused to hold Austen, 37, accountable.

“JT, do you want to be friends with us?” Craig asked. “Because it means you have to stop arguing with Austen and making up lies about his girlfriend.”

JT tried to defend himself by claiming, “I’m just saying what Rodrigo and her talked about.”

“If you mention it again, you won’t see me again,” Craig warned.

JT stood by what he heard. “Craig, I’m telling you, I’m sticking to the truth,” he said.

At that Craig decided to leave the golf course.

“I can’t hang out with people who are against my friend Austen,” Craig said. “Shep, I love you my friend, but this is not healthy for me. These are bananas!”

Shep told JT that “words matter” and that he should stop making accusations.

“You went straight to the grass, man,” Shep told JT. “Just stop.”
