Spencer Herron Biography

Having owned a local business and served in the Air National Guard, Spencer Herron of Acworth, Georgia was once a well-loved citizen. After that, the reputed Berry College grad landed a video production teaching position at Kell High School in Cobb County, where he was named “Teacher of the Year” not once, but twice. By all accounts, he was a fantastic mentor—that is, until the reality of his actions, which included an allegation that he sexually assaulted at least three of his female students beginning in 2016, came to light in June 2018.

According to court documents, Spencer began texting a student in the summer of 2016 and asked her to meet under the guise of working for a fictional school club. Documents show Spencer pretended to take her on “unauthorized field trips” and actually managed to annoy her on multiple occasions throughout the academic year, both on and off campus. She found the extraordinary courage to apply in just a few months as she immersed herself in the college experience. The attacks stopped in 2017, probably when she graduated.

However, it is important to note that during the 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 academic years, Spencer allegedly took advantage of two other female students on multiple occasions. Another claimed that she once told him to “shut up” when she started crying, while the first claimed that he told police investigators they had sex after she specifically told him no. The educator’s 15-year career ended in June 2018 for just her first, so it appears these particular cases have not been resolved. He was arrested at his residence and booked on $55,220 bond.
