SpongeBob SquarePants: 10 Hilarious Animation Errors Nobody Notices

Generally speaking, SpongeBob . Square Pants was a beloved series, the first four seasons were praised for their witty humor and excellent character animation. That being said, neither digital nor hand animation is an easy process and it can be a time consuming process and will never be perfect.

This often results in animation errors that don’t often slip through the cracks. Even some of the best episodes have some unwanted missteps. Even the biggest blockbusters have their blunders, and even longtime fans may never have noticed these blunders of SpongeBob SquarePants.

SpongeBob’s clothes change between shots (MuscleBob BuffPants)

It would make sense for SpongeBob to change his clothes between registration and the actual contest. However, in the same scene, SpongeBob’s clothes change from his bathing suit to his usual business attire, from struggling to get a drink to flying towards a power pole.

Unless one assumes that SpongeBob changed his clothes mid-flight, that’s certainly a mistake. That said, it goes by so quickly that most viewers may not notice it for years.

What happened to the bucket? (bad vacation)

In SpongeBob SquarePants, SpongeBob stands in front of Krusty Krab on the left and Chum Bucket faces Krusty Krab on the right

From his very first episode, it’s clear that Plankton is the villain and scene stealer of life and activity opposite Krusty Krab. Krusty Krab and Chum Bucket are the ultimate opponents, and have been for years, except for the occasional mistake.

The worst mistakes were made in the episode bad vacation SpongeBob is so obsessed with his job that he can’t go on vacation. He had tracked down Krusty Krab once and it was clear that there were no Buckets across the street; just sand and a little house in the distance.

Crab seems to fly (died of cake)

Squidward has been the source of many fantasy memes over the years, and he refuses to act like a brother to SpongeBob SquarePants, finding flaws in a moment as he points to the yellow protagonist. The Crab has no legs, its body hanging in the air looks quite funny.

Here’s another problem: Squidward has no legs either. In the show, Squidward’s tentacles have four tentacles like legs, but in the same scene as Mr. Krabs, Squidward has only two.

Squidward’s Missing Neck (Missing mattress)

Body parts kept disappearing as Squidward tried to retrieve Boss Krab’s old mattress from the trash. In the end, he fell victim to the guard worm a second time, breaking through the fourth wall as he acknowledged the danger he was in.

Breaking the fourth wall seems to have consequences, as as he speaks in front of the camera, Squidward’s neck disappears, leaving his head suspended in mid-air.

Where is Squidward’s house? (lost identity)

At this point, Conch Street’s iconic building sits alongside SpongeBob’s Pineapple House, Patrick’s Rock, and Squidward’s Easter Island headquarters. So it’s confusing that the animators somehow forgot to add Squidward’s house to one of the scenes in “Missing Identity”.

In the photo of the entire street, the pineapple and the rock can be seen, but Squidward’s house is somehow missing. It’s also not a matter of viewing angle, as Patrick is positioned where the house can be seen. Offending hurts, the house appears later in the scene.

Villain is not a word (The Little Mermaid and Barnacle Boy V)

Spelling mistakes are common, especially in thank you notes, but this one is a little different, in a big news broadcast where bikini super criminals gather together to form a new organization. ; Every Villain Is Lemons, also known as Evil (Modeled after SPECTER from the James Bond series).

However, there is a gap between the lines: “villain” is misspelled as “villian”, which is as funny as the joke itself.

Ghost Ape (Something Happened to Me)

In one of the funniest yet random jokes on the show, a real gorilla shows up and sets out to beat Sandy and Patrick. Due to too many absurd details, it is understandable that fans do not pay attention to the errors in the animation as well as the green screen effect.

The gorilla is partially transparent. In some shots, viewers can see the sands of Conch Street and Bikini Beach directly through the gorillas.

Mr. Krab’s Arm is Lost (The Little Mermaid & Barnacleboy V)

It’s a “wink and the audience will miss” moment. When Squidward decided not to voluntarily become a superhero, Boss Krabs scolded him and pointed a finger at Squidward. If you look closely, you can see Mr. Krab’s arm leaving the screen.

Fortunately, it happened pretty quickly, like Mr. Krabs laying down his weapon. However, his sleeves are still raised rather than drooping, implying that Mr. Krabs should just be longer. However, this is not the first time Mr Krabs has lost his arm and it is even mentioned in one of Mr Krabs’ funniest quotes.

Why did Squidward’s eyes turn green? (pizza delivery)

For many fans, “Pizza Delivery” remains one of Squidward’s best episodes. In it, after an exhausting journey, SpongeBob and Squidward are rescued by a rock they can ride. According to SpongeBob SquarePants, this is an old avant-garde trick, further confirming that the show can be weird.

SpongeBob suspects Squidward, and when SpongeBob throws rocks at him, Squidward immediately proves him wrong. In a strange mistake, Squidward’s eyes turn green for the rest of the scene, even as he runs after SpongeBob.

Sandy enters from the wrong side (pressure)

Most of the errors seen so far have been simple errors, but this one in “Pressure” went too far. Sandy can clearly be seen running in through Krusty Krab’s front door; In the same shot, Sandy is seen running in from the right side of Krusty Krab, where there is no door.

Was it that hard to get her to run through the front door? Instead, it manifests as a strange space-time anomaly occurring within the Krusty Krab. This is a different case, however, and most viewers may not notice it until years later.
