Steve Toussaint was born on March 22, 1965 in the United Kingdom to parents from Barbados. He allegedly took his last name from Toussaint Louverture, the legendary leader of the Haitian revolution. Toussaint’s film and television career took off in the 1990s, with parts in Judge Dredd, ID and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes, to name a few. Toussaint starred in a number of notable television episodes and films throughout the 2000s, including Shooting Dogs, Flight of Fury, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Line of Duty and many others.
In House of the Dragon, Steve Toussaint now plays the pivotal role of Lord Corlys Velaryon. Corlys Velaryon, leader of House Velaryon, is a renowned navigator. He is the husband of Princess Rhaenys Targaryen. Velaryon is known for being insightful and loyal and is not afraid to speak his honest and open ideas. Velaryon is described as “the head of a strong family with ancient origins” in HBO’s official character guide. According to the description,
