Still Game legend dies as tributes pour in for ‘beloved actor’

The legend of a quiet game has died at the age of 93 because they flooded the tributes for the “beloved actor”.

The director of the hit show, Michael Hines, led to X to announce the passage of Jimmy Martin, who played ‘Auld Eric’.

He wrote, “Only more and more game fans would know that Jimmy Martin ‘Eric’ passed away today.

“He was a wonderful actor and I honored him to call him a friend.”

Jane McCarry, 54, who played Craiglang Gossip Isa Drennan in Still Gameu, said: “Jimmy was a fantastic character, full of stories and fun.

“I’m so glad he received a medal of the British Empire last year.

“That meant so much to him. He’ll be glad to miss him, but what kind of life he had. Goodbye pal.”

Representative for Red Shoe Entertainment wrote on Facebook: “We are deeply sad to share the news that Jimmy Martin, a beloved actor known for the Eric, has passed away.

“His warmth, humor and unforgettable performances brought joy, and his legacy will live through a laugh he shared with the world.

“Our thoughts are with his family, friends and everyone who loved him. Rest in peace, Jimmy.

In the meantime, fans have climbed the social media to remember “absolute legends.”

It comes a few months after the 93-year-old got top-notch Royal Honor.

The comedy icon Jimmy served time in the royal navy and was recognized by her commitment to the country.

The grandfather of the two reported to serve his country with pride at the age of 17.

He received a medal of the British Empire, which is awarded to “a meritorious civil or military service worth recognition by the crown.”

At the time, his daughter Jennifer joked: “We wonder if they may have a translator at Buckingham Palace because I can’t paint Camilla and Charles are very fluent in Craiglang.

“But Dad is totally delighted, and so is we. It’s absolutely great to recognize him like this.”

Jimmy enjoyed an acting career for 40 years, appearing in the character of Taggart and headed to a high road.
