The death of Stockton Rush was a tragic loss, as he was well known as the CEO and founder of OceanGate Expeditions. It was his company’s Titan submarine that collapsed after it went missing on Sunday June 18, 2023 en route to the wreck of HMS Titanic about 370 miles east of the coast of Newfoundland, Canada.
On June 22, 2023, the US Coast Guard announced during a press conference that the missing Titan’s pressure chamber had been discovered among other debris, nearly 1,600 feet from the bow of the Titanic on the seabed by an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle).
