Strictly chaos as Adam Thomas is BANNED from rehearsals – and place on show is hanging in the balance

STRICTLY Come Dancing bosses are terrified winter flu will wipe out their line-up after Adam Thomas fell ill and was banned from rehearsing.

Celebrities and their professional partners have been warned to take every precaution to stay well – even if it means missing out on precious rehearsal time.

Adam, 35, revealed earlier this week that he was forced to stop training with Luba Mushtuk after battling an illness which is feared to be affecting others.

A show source said: “It sounds silly but winter flu could wipe out Strictly’s stars – and that would be a nightmare.

“Adam was forced to miss training after an illness and is now trying to cope with it.

“It would be worse for him to spread it around, and being so close to his professional partner Luba means he is more likely to get sick.

“I strictly prohibit celebrities and professionals from training if they are sick in an attempt to stop it from spreading.

“Of course everyone on the show just wants to show up and get on with it, but if they spread their desire, it could have a big impact.

“Strictly should go with glitter and glitter – not snot.”

Adam is back in training today – but his place on the show could be in jeopardy after missing so much training.

It’s been a tough few days for the former soap star, who is missing his wife of six years, Caroline.

Speaking to The Sun, Adam said: “Absence definitely makes the heart grow fonder because I keep ringing her saying ‘God I love you so much’.

“She just called me, crying, saying ‘You don’t know how much this means.’

“That’s how I got used to being at home all the time. We definitely miss each other.

“It’s the biggest emotional rollercoaster you can imagine.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be this hard.”

Adam was still on Emmerdale when he appeared on ITV’s I’m A Celebrity.

Two years later, in 2018, he left the series.

He rejoined the cast of Waterloo Road in 2023 as Donte Charles — a role he had played before, only this time his character, a former student, had grown up to become the school’s janitor.
