But an investigation by HR found that the former Strictly Come Dancing star, a devout Christian, had done nothing wrong.

The complaint was made by a colleague who works in the media.

Walker, a 46-year-old father of three, joined Channel 5 News from BBC Breakfast in April 2022.

He is believed to be paid £500,000 a year.

The investigator said of the claims: “There is a lack of evidence to support the allegations.”

An industry source said: “This row has rocked Channel 5 and ITN.

“Dan is a very popular person and is well respected.

“He was devastated and completely stunned to be dragged into this.

“Dan knew about the lawsuit last year but was initially told all the allegations related to the events before he joined Channel 5.

“This really shocked him – and he just couldn’t understand it.

“But he co-operated with the investigation and was completely open and transparent because he had nothing to hide – and he was later relieved, but not surprised, that he was fully exonerated.

“Everything was done according to the rules and they brought in an outside team to ensure the independence of the probe.”

A Channel 5 spokesman said: “ITN has engaged an independent external expert to investigate these allegations, but none have been confirmed.”

An ITN spokesperson said: “We take such claims incredibly seriously. To ensure fairness and impartiality, we appointed an independent external consultant and they completed their investigation.

“Given our ongoing duty of care, we will not be commenting further.”

It comes after Dana was hit by a car and thrown from his bike in February – knocking him unconscious for 25 minutes.

The bloodied driver said he thought he was going to die after the vehicle plowed into him at a busy roundabout.

He was covered in blood from injuries to his face, arms and legs, and was unconscious until the police and emergency services arrived.

He then said: “Honestly, I thought I was done.

“I came with the paramedics and the police standing over me on the other side of the roundabout.

“I have no idea how I got there or how I didn’t break any bones.

“I don’t remember that. My face is a real mess. I might need surgery.”

The driver, whose dash cam captured the footage, said: “I looked in my mirror and saw him rolling across the road after being hit.

“It was quite shocking — certainly something you don’t see every day.

“Later I looked at the camera footage and realized I had captured the moment.

“He’s lucky to be alive.”

Dan’s new gig ‘a dream come true’

The BBC star spilled the beans about his latest gig away from the small screen.

Taking to X/Twitter, Dan, 58, revealed that he now co-owns the cafe.

He wrote: “You know I talk a lot about cakes? Well… I am officially now a co-owner of a coffee shop!!!
