Strictly’s Anton Du Beke speaks out after spoilers for 2023 pairings are leaked

Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke has spoken out about people spoiling the show for fans amid news that couples for this year’s competition have been leaked online.

The former pro, who left his role as a dancer to become a judge on the show in 2021, revealed how “irritating” he finds it when information is shared on spoiler websites and then spread to the public.

“It irritates me. I get irritated. I hate anyone who spoils me,” Anton told Metro Online, adding: “I can only think that they enjoy it and I just want to say grow up. Don’t spoil it other people.”

Anton’s frustration comes amid news that the pairings for this year’s BBC Ballroom and Latin competition have been leaked online. Celebrities and professional dancers are now aware of who we’ll be dancing with for the next few months, but the partnerships aren’t officially revealed to the masses until the show launches.

Class of Strictly 2023 are rightfully tight-lipped about who their partner is, but many have been teasing fans about the upcoming reveal and expressing their delight on social media.

Professional dancer Graziano Di Prima, who was paired with Kym Marsh last year, took to his Instagram Stories to share his excitement with fans. Speaking directly to the camera, the Italian champion said: “Hey guys. I just finished a full day of filming and I can’t wait to reveal my partner, I literally can’t wait. So get ready for the premiere and go be part of my Strictly traveling with my partner, I can’t wait.

Meanwhile, the rest of the cast were equally thrilled to reveal the pairings. Angela posted on Instagram: “Now I know who my #Strictly partner is. I didn’t realize how horribly anxious I’d been waiting, the control freak in me lost her sweet little mind.

“Anyway, I’m put out of my misery and I’m bloody stoked, we haven’t started training yet but I’m already feeling a bit calmer which must be cheating, but I’m leaving for now… I’m hit by your assumption?!”

Layton Williams took fan teasing to the next level when he posted on social media: “Swipe for my #Strictly PRO reveal! I’VE GOT IT. Not yet – but soooooooo! Show launch complete (airs 16th September) and training begins next week. I can’t wait! #StrictlySlayton.”

Viewers will find out who is dancing with whom when the premiere airs on BBC One on September 16.
