Suella Braverman vows ‘I’ll have my say’ after she’s sacked as Home Secretary in wake of Armistice Day protest row

SUELLA Braverman today vowed “I’ll speak my mind” as she was sacked following violent clashes on Armistice Day amid criticism from weather police chiefs.

The interior minister was sacked this morning after being accused of inciting violence during a weekend in which thugs clashed with police.

In a short statement, the former minister said: “It was the greatest privilege of my life to serve as Minister of the Interior.”

“I will have more to say in due course.”

The embattled Rishi Sunak is carrying out a major cabinet reshuffle as Tory MPs are mired in civil war.

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly will replace Ms Braverman as Home Secretary.

And in a dramatic twist, former Prime Minister David Cameron made a sensational political comeback as Foreign Secretary.

Meanwhile, Health Secretary Neil O’Brien, the chief architect of the new smoking ban, has resigned from his post.

And veteran schools minister Nick Gibb has stepped down from the government.

On a seismic day of change at number 10…

Ms Braverman’s critics blamed the violent clashes on Armistice Day between pro-Palestinian protesters and far-right thugs on the former home secretary’s divisive comments about police officers.

She sparked outrage late last week after she accused the Met in The Times of favoring left-wing pro-Palestinian and BLM protesters over right-wing marches.

At large protests over the weekend, Palestinian activists dressed as Hamas killers and right-wing thugs injured police officers.

Cops are investigating dozens of hate incidents and anti-Semitic attacks, and Michael Gove thanks the Met for saving him from an aggressive mob.

Yesterday, the Defense Secretary called on police to make more arrests after 300,000 anti-Israel protesters marched through central London.

Some held openly racist signs and others were dressed as Hamas killers.

Amid the violent scenes, Ms. Braverman came out swinging for her career.

The Labor mayor of London, Scotland’s first minister and a number of Labor MPs have called on her to leave.

Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper insisted she could not stay in her job.

But supporters of the former home secretary said she had vindicated herself in warning against two-tier policing at the weekend and had been proven right that there would be clashes.

Ms Braverman said: “Unfortunately, there is a perception that senior police officers are favorites when it comes to protesters. Why, during Covid, did the law and order police not object to isolation, and Lives Black Matters protesters were enabled, allowed to break the rules, and even greeted with kneeling cops?

“Right-wing and nationalist protesters who engage in aggression are rightly met with a harsh response, and pro-Palestinian groups who exhibit almost identical behavior are largely ignored, even when they are clearly breaking the law.”

On the eve of the prime minister’s major reconstruction, the allies of the ousted interior minister were angry.

Many saw her as their ideological representative at the cabinet table and a force to oppose more moderate Tory MPs.
