Sugandha Mishra is an Indian comedian, voice-over singer and host. She came into the limelight after participating in the reality TV show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge (2005). She is best known for her role as “Vidyavati” (teacher) in the talk show and chat show The Kapil Sharma Show (2016).

Sugandha Mishra was born on Wednesday, May 23, 1984 (age 37 in 2021) in Jalandhar, Punjab. Her zodiac sign is Gemini.
She attended Rabindra Day and Residential Senior Secondary Public School in Jalandhar.
She enrolled in Guru Nanak University, Amritsar for her Masters in Music. Thereafter, she enrolled in Apij Academy of Fine Arts, Jalandhar for her PhD in Music. After completing her Masters, Sugandha started receiving offers to work as a lecturer as she was a gold medalist. However, she turned down these offers as most of her family members were in the same profession and she wanted to do something different. Born into an Indore school family, Sugandha developed an interest in music at a very young age. When Sugandha was three years old, she gave her first performance (reciting a poem and dancing) in front of Shabana Azmi’s father, Kaifi Azmi (a poet). Sugandha is the fourth generation in her family to love singing. She received training in classical music from her grandfather, Pt. Shankar Lal Mishra, a disciple of Ustaad Amir Khan Sahib.

The next day, she announced on her Instagram account that they will tie the knot on April 26, 2021.
On April 26, 2021, the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony.
On December 15, 2023, the couple was blessed with a baby girl.
Profession
Suganda Mishra started her career as a radio jockey for BIG FM India. She then started singing jingles, bhajans and songs for various dramas, documentaries and short films. In 2008, she participated in the Indian reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge: Season 4 and became one of the finalists of the show.
She then participated in the singing reality show “Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar” (2010).
In 2011, Sugandha ventured into comedy with the TV show “Don’t Worry Chachu”.
She subsequently appeared in many comedy shows including Comedy Circus Ke Taansen (2011), Chhote Miyan Bade Miyan (2011), Comedy Circus Ke Ajoobe (2011), and The Drama Company (2018).
She gained immense popularity for her role as ‘Vidyavati (Teacher)’ in Sony TV’s ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’.
Sugandha made her singing debut in 2012 with the songs “Zor Naache” and “Ishq Ki Dafli Baje” from the Bollywood film “Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal”.
She next sang the song “Tu Hass Le” from the film Shree (2013). She has also released music albums such as “Us Ladke Se Mohabbat Hai” (2016), “Chori Chori” (2018), “Kinna Sohna” (2018), “Challa” (2018), and “Loye Loye” (2018).
