Wendell Pierce is a fan of both the Yankees and the Dodgers, but he’s not a fan of what happened to him during Game 5 of the World Series Wednesday night in the Bronx.
The Suits the actor, 60, shared on Xu that he had to leave the final game early and didn’t get a chance to see Los Angeles win the championship because of some “unruly” fans on Oct. 30.
“Unfortunately, I just left a Yankees game because I was talking to a Dodgers fan and people were heckling me,” Pierce wrote. “Unruly, obnoxious people can spoil everything. Worst experience ever. The game and the experience have no meaning now. Sportsmanship ends with the ugliness of humanity.”
Wire alum elaborated on the incident in another post.

“The fact that some suburbanite who came to Yankee Stadium to act… completely destroys the craft of Cole hitting a no-hitter in the 5th, or Freeman hitting a 4-game hitting streak: both in the World Series championship,” he continued, tagging the Yankees’ X account. “It won’t mean anything to me because all I’ll remember are the obnoxious fans I had to avoid.”

Pierce concluded his account of the incident in a third post, adding: “The complete opposite of the Olympic experience when the competition is celebrated for the level of expertise.”
For Pierce, rooting for both teams was part of the fun of the series — at least at first.
He was in attendance for Game 1 at Dodger Stadium last Friday and shared his excitement in a post on X about the team’s extra-inning victory, after eventual World Series MVP Freddie Freeman hit a grand slam.

On Wednesday night before the Dodgers’ epic win, Pierce showed his enthusiasm for the home team by donning a Yankees cap.
“Like I said, I’ll be rooting for the home team,” he said, before panning the camera to capture his seats behind home plate. “Great night for baseball here in New York.”
The Dodgers went on to win the game 7-6, clinching the 2024 World Series title.
