Sumit Goswami was born on Monday, 18 November 1996 in Daulati village, Sonepat, Haryana (26 years old; as of 2022). He received his higher education from Haryana Institute of Technology and Engineering. He has been interested in singing since he was a child and started writing songs in class nine. His father disapproved of his singing career and wanted him to become an engineer. His father used to underestimate him. Whenever he talked about becoming a singer, his father would laugh at him and call him Sheikh Chilli (daydreamer or impractical). This hurt Sumit’s feelings and he told his father that he would make a lot of money and make his career as a singer flourish. He obeyed his father’s instructions and went to college, but his desire to become a singer never stopped.

After completing his studies, he started working night shifts in a private company. He used to work in the office at night and compose songs during the day. His first song “Karobaar” was released in January 2018.
He didn’t tell his parents about the song. The song didn’t gain much fame, but his family began to support him heavily after that. He released the audio of his second song “Gangwar with Bawli Tared” which was widely appreciated by the public. Later, he uploaded the video of the song starring Vicky Kajla on YouTube. After the release of the song, Sumit became a popular singer in Haryana.

He lives with his parents and sister in Rohini Sector 11, Shahbad. Before his death, he posted a video on social media in which he mentioned Sumit and the name of a girl who cheated on him on a business project.
