I was not very happy when I acted in Ramayana because I lost many Bollywood film jobs due to Ramayana…but today I am proud to have acted in this epic. It is the only show in the world that has the highest ratings, which is a world record and has made history. Whenever the history of Indian cinema is written, the name of Ramayana will always be written with golden words. My role of Lakshman also influenced my life and helped me build my life and relationship with the world…I am thankful to God for choosing me to act this role and to the audience for loving me and giving me unforgettable celebrity status…The most beautiful part of the epic Ramayana is that it teaches human values and that is why this show transcends caste and religion and is loved by everyone.”
- Sunil Lahri donated his father, Dr. Shikhar Chandra Lahri’s body to the forensic department of JK Medical College in Bhopal after his father passed away in 2012. His father had left a will 10 years before his death, asking that his body be donated to the medical college so that students there could do more anatomical research. Sunil said,
He had expressed this wish more than a decade ago and when he passed away recently, we fulfilled his wish. Since my father was a medical professional and a professor in a medical college, he realized that the problem faced by students in their studies was due to the lack of human anatomy material available for study, so he took this decision and it had an impact and many people in Bhopal came forward and expressed their desire to do the same. Since my father was also involved in a lot of social activities, he always thought of the common good.”
- Sunil has teamed up with his Ramayana co-star Arun Govil to start a production company.
