Sunny Hostin Was Criticized By Nikki Haley After She Made A Racist Remark

South Carolina politician Nikki Haley attacked American TV presenter Sunny Hostin for being “racist” about this person’s name. The View host made some controversial remarks about Haley on the September 20 episode. This happened during a discussion about the likely presidential candidates for the election year. 2024 against incumbent US President Joe Biden. After Hostin called her a “chameleon,” Alyssa Farah Griffin suggested Nikki Haley as a potential running mate, saying she was an “incredibly efficient governor of South Carolina.”

Hostin continued to taunt Haley, asking for her real name. This prompted Hostin to change her name, which she regrets because it doesn’t reflect her Latin roots.

“I wish I could go back in time and change my mind.” If I hadn’t changed it, people might have mistakenly identified me as Afro Latino. It’s an important part of who I am. My family doesn’t like the nickname Sunny. My grandmother was especially angry.”

During a recent appearance on The View, Sunny’s co-host Sara Haines said she also didn’t use her real name after Nikki Haley was reprimanded for doing the same thing.

She justified herself by saying:

“Due to inadequate education in our country, most Americans cannot pronounce Asunción.” But, as Alyssa pointed out, individuals are attracted to different names for different reasons.”
