Supernatural Creator Teases Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki's Reunion on The Boys: It Would 'Destroy the World'

The stars might align if Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki meet for the first time since Supernatural finished in 2020

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Supernatural creator Eric Kripke — who also created Boys said it’s “fair” to say that not only could Padalecki, 41, join the Prime Video series for its fifth and final season, but it’s also possible he’ll reunite on screen with Ackles, who previously appeared in Boys and a spin-off show Gen V as Soldier Boy.

“The value of it [reunion] is to break the internet. So we’ll see if it’s right for the story,” Kripke told the paper. “But yeah, it occurred to me that putting the two of them in a scene together would destroy a lot of the world, and that’s appealing.”

For his part, Padalecki was very transparent in an interview with Deadline on June 21 about whether he would be interested in joining Boys. “The answer is yes,” he said.

“I think at this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever,” the actor added.

Padalecki — whose CW action drama series, Walker, ends after four seasons on June 26 — went on to share why he appears on Boys would be appropriate given his work with Kripke (50) and Ackles (46). Supernatural.

“I mean, he [Eric] created Supernatural. He created Sam Winchester. He created Ruby [Genevieve Padalecki], whom I eventually married and started a family with,” he said. “I love him. I love his humor. I love him as a person, his storytelling. So I can’t wait. I don’t think [The Boys season 5] movies until next year, but I’ll be ready when he calls. I’ll just say, ‘Okay, when do I fly?'”

It would not be the first time that the actor from Supernatural appeared on Boys. Jeffrey Dean Morgan appears as Kessler this season, but Kripke admitted that things are still being put together for season five.

“I don’t have a role for him [Jared] but only because we didn’t cook it,” he said. “We’re still very early in the season 5 hiatus, but the planets seem to be aligning. Barring any unforeseen catastrophe, it seems likely to happen. Again, I don’t know which character it is, I don’t know if it’s one episode or more. I really know zero about all that. I’m not shy. I really do not know.”
