- On June 24, 2023, Suraj was riding a bicycle from Mysore to Ooty at Mysuru-Gundlupet near Begur. An accident occurred on the highway. The bike reportedly lost control while trying to overtake the tractor and hit a dump truck. He was rushed to a private hospital in Mysore. Suraj’s right leg was reportedly seriously injured and doctors had to amputate it below the knee to save his life.
