Suren passed away in Manipur on November 2, 2022 due to liver disease. He was suffering from the disease for a long time and was admitted to RIMS Hospital in Manipur but failed to recover. Later, he was admitted to ILBS Hospital in Delhi for treatment.

- His death was announced on social media by his friend and producer Astique LA II. He wrote in a social media post,
God is missing an angel with a great voice in heaven. That’s why he took you away so quickly. This is a huge loss for the industry. We all tried our best, but fate was not on our side. May your soul rest in peace, Brother Suren Yumnam. “
- After Suren’s death, singer Kailash Kher shared a video of Suren on social media and expressed his feelings for him. He captioned the video and wrote:
Manipur’s well-loved and famous singer Suren Yumnam, who was singing “Allah Ke Bande” from his hospital bed, passed away yesterday due to illness in Manipur , to his heavenly abode. But left a message that makes us all live with a smile. ”
- In the caption, Kailash also revealed that Suren received Rs. Fans voted 58,51,270 for his treatment.
