Susan Crow Career

Susan made sure that her schooling matched her career choice because she knew from a young age that she wanted to be a teacher. Soon after she first met her future husband Tony, Susan developed a passion for philanthropy and aided in the establishment of the Exploring The Arts (ETA) organization. Since its founding in 1999, the group has supported the construction of more than 17 schools around the US and promotes the study of the arts.

Susan is in charge of the organization’s charitable endeavors and serves as board president. Susan and Tony received George Washington University Medals in 2010. Susan not only works for ETA but also owns and runs a New York-based creative agency called Creative Artists Management.

A biography of Tony Bennett, her husband:

American artist, retired vocalist, and founder of the Frank Sinatra School of the Arts is Tony Bennett. Anthony Dominick Benedetto was born in Astoria, Queens, New York, on August 3, 1926. His parents are Italian immigrants John Benedetto and Anna Suraci.

Bennett, who grew up during the Great Depression in poverty, started singing at a young age to support his family. He left high school and joined the US Army to fight in World War II. He attended the American Theater Wing after the war and started playing in nightclubs all across New York City.

In 1949, Bob Hope requested Bennett to appear on his radio program after he had been made aware of him. After that, he joined Columbia Records, and in 1951, he issued “Because of You,” his first successful single. He had many songs during the following ten years, including “I Left My Heart in San Francisco,” “Stranger in Paradise,” and “Rags to Riches,” which became his anthem.

Bennett is a talented painter in addition to having a great music career. He has shown his art in galleries all around the world, including the Art Students League of New York.

The Frank Sinatra School of the Arts was established by Bennett in Astoria, Queens, in 2001. The institution is a public high school that offers students from all five boroughs of New York City a specialized arts education.

Bennett has received various honors throughout his career, including the Kennedy Center Honors in 2005, a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy, and 20 Grammy Awards. Additionally, he was honored with a spot in the International Jazz Hall of Fame.
