The two defense attorneys defending Donald Trump in the first ever prosecution of a former president make an unusual team. They have different personalities and approach cases with a mix of bravado and nuance.

On Tuesday, when Trump is scheduled to be indicted on charges related to his role in paying off porn stars ahead of the 2016 election, both lawyers are expected to appear with him in New York state court. While the stakes are high in either case, Ms Necheles argued that this one is especially so because she is not only defending Trump, but she is doing so in New York. She claimed that ties between Manhattan prosecutors seemed more strained than usual. Trump’s lawyers were not notified in advance of the timing of the impeachment.
