The terminally ill former Manchester City manager revealed in January that he had been diagnosed with the disease.

His inspiring life is chronicled in a documentary for Amazon Prime Video released Friday.

Speaking to The Mirror, close friend Runebjer said: “I saw Sven and how do I feel? I’m sad but I’m happy that I knew Sven and I know I can still see him. This is my reaction.

“He’s such a great person.

“Lake Fryken is beautiful. It’s 90 kilometers long from south to north and it’s a beautiful landscape. You can see that in the pictures. You can definitely fish in that lake.

“Unfortunately, his condition doesn’t allow Sven to do that anymore. It’s hard for him.”

Sven talked about Lake Fryken in his documentary and was filmed sitting by the beautiful water surface.

He said: “I always thought this was a great place to sleep.

The director of Sven’s documentary revealed that the former soccer player left those who worked on the project in tears while he filmed his last farewell in a room alone without a cameraman.

Sven-Göran Eriksson’s rallying cry for England

Claudia Corbisiero, director, said; “He was always open, but I think it took time to get him to be really open about his illness and how he felt about it.

“Sven also really wanted to make sure that this wasn’t just a sad story.

“And that was something that he really liked, ‘I don’t want this to be a boo hoo. I’m dying’ thing.'”

Sven was too ill to fly to London earlier this week to promote the documentary.

His daughter Lina said on stage in London that he was now “deteriorating quite quickly”.

The former England manager gave a final message to former players, coaches and fans after speaking openly about his affairs and life in film.

In a touching clip at the end of the documentary, Sven told viewers: “I’ve had a good life. I think we all dread the day we die, but life is also death.

“You have to learn to take it for what it is. Hopefully, eventually people will say, yes, he was a good man, but not everyone will say that.

“I hope you will remember me as a positive guy who tried to do everything he could. Don’t be sorry, smile.

“Thank you for everything, coaches, players, audience, it was fantastic. Take care and take care of your life. And live it.”

The film then cuts back to Sven at his home, with the former England coach ending his message with “hello”.
