The 26-year-old actress appeared on SNL for the first time alongside musical guest Kacey Musgraves on Saturday, and during her monologue jokingly addressed “some of the things I’ve seen about myself on the Internet.”
“I once said I worked at Universal Studios and then someone online accused me of lying about it, which is crazy. If I didn’t work there, I would know all the Universal characters, like Shock, Monions and Harry Porter,” she joked.
Then Sweeney talked about “the woman on TikTok [who] she went viral because she claimed to be my nutritionist,” joking that she’s in shape because she runs, avoids sugar and “does Ozempic.”
The actress then revealed the “craziest rumor” she had seen on the internet, which was “yes while I was filming Anyone but you I had an affair with my colleague Glen Powell.”
“That’s obviously not true,” she added, explaining, “Me and my fiance produced the movie together and he was there for the whole shoot, and I just want to let everyone know that he’s the man of my dreams and we’re still together and stronger than ever.”
“He even came here tonight to support me, can we pass him?” she asked as the camera panned to none other than Powell himself sitting in the audience, prompting cheers from the crowd.
“Yes, no, that’s not my fiancé. It’s in my wardrobe!” she said, feigning confusion, before promising a great show.
Last year, Sweeney, who is engaged to businessman Jonathan Davin, and Powell, who is single, spoke with PEOPLE and discussed the focus on them. The two are just friends, but the attention they received helped bring attention to the film. “I mean, we sold the rom-com,” Sweeney told PEOPLE. “We were just making a fun, amazing movie.”
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the actress took part in a number of skits alongside her monologue, including one where she played high school cheerleader Rochelle who tries to seduce the basketball team’s newest star, a dog named Air Bud.
Ahead of the series, a promo for its episode on Wednesday saw Sweeney play a sweet encounter with cast member Michael Longfellow. The two bump into each other on the sound stage, causing the actress to drop her book.
“Kafka on the shore,” identifies Longfellow, 30. “You know, this is one of my all-time favorite books.” As pink lights and romantic music play, he tries to propose, but Sweeney is already leaving.
“Whatever, I didn’t like this book anyway,” he resigns.

Her well of upcoming films won’t dry up anytime soon. Costar Powell, 35, said Diversity that the two were reading scripts to find their next film Anyone but you grossed $200 million worldwide.
“When you find someone you really enjoy being with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so much fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us any scripts you have,” Powell told the outlet.
