Sydney Sweeney Teases Anyone But You Sequel: ‘A High 9 Chance’

There could be one more Anyone but you film on the way.

During the performance on Tuesday The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonSydney Sweeney — who plays Bea in the rom-com — has admitted that a sequel is most likely to follow the film’s box office success.

“Maybe a big chance,” the 26-year-old actress told host Fallon, 49.

“Oh really? That’s what I’m talking about!” he added excitedly. – I can’t wait to see.

She continued about the film, “I’m so grateful that everyone loves it.” She also revealed how her and co-star Joe Davidson’s plan to surprise fans at the cinema backfired.

“I was filming in Australia while this was in theaters, and Joe, who plays Beau, he and I would sneak into theaters and surprise people,” she recalled.

“Have they gone mad?” Fallon asked.

“No, at first they didn’t know what was going on. They wondered, ‘What?’ Everybody was dead quiet. We’re standing in front with a microphone, saying, ‘This isn’t working,’ Euphoria laughed the actress.

Sweeney starred opposite Glen Powell, who played Ben Anyone but you, which arrived in theaters in December. The film’s official logline reads: “When college archenemies reunite years after graduation for a destination wedding, they pretend to be a couple for their own personal reasons. But pretending, they actually fall in love.”

While the film only made $6 million at the domestic box office in December, it has since grossed $87 million in the U.S. and recently surpassed $200 million worldwide.

While talking to Diversity on the red carpet at the 2024 SAG Awards on Saturday, Powell, 35, said he’s open to doing the next movie with Sweeney.

“When you find someone you really enjoy being with, Sydney is so easy to work with and so much fun. We’re definitely trying to find the next thing. Please send us any scripts you have,” Powell told the outlet. “You know that’s what we’re here for.”

“It was really wonderful to read a lot. Sydney, by the way, reads everything and in record time,” he added. “She’s the fastest reader I’ve ever met. It takes me a little longer, but we read everything and just try to see what makes sense, what we can turn into something the audience will respond to.”
