Four years after winning Miss Vendée, Tellier decided to return to the pageant. She was living in Lyon at the time and participated in the Miss Lyon 2001 competition and won. dispute
Miss France criticized for violence against women
As the main organizer, Sylvie Tellier chose to dedicate Miss France 2018 to the cause of combating violence against women. The decision, influenced by the global #MeToo movement in the wake of the Harvey Weinstein scandal, was met with skepticism and criticism from many, including feminist groups. They questioned whether it was appropriate to use the Miss France platform in this way to advocate for women’s rights.
Controversial clothing choice to pay homage to Geneviève de Fontenay
The Miss France 2023 contest includes a tribute to the late Geneviève de Fontenay, who died on 1 August. The tribute was simple but touching, with generations of Miss France winners taking to the stage, each wearing black trousers and white shirts, complemented by signature belts indicating the year of their coronation. However, Sylvie’s outfit in particular attracted a lot of negative attention, given the pair’s previous rift.
