T.J. Holmes and Amy Robach Urge Couples to ‘Not Record Your Fights’ After Raw Podcast Episode

TJ Holmes and Amy Robach have some advice for other couples.

In the latest episode of their Amy & TJ podcast, which was released on Thursday, ex GMA3: What you need to know the co-hosts talked about their previous podcast recording where they talked candidly about their relationship issues.

The emotionally charged episode, released Tuesday, was filmed as a “surprise” for Robach, 50, and iHeart Radio producers, with Robach calling Holmes, 46, “indisposed” and confronting him about his “communication deficits.”

When asked by Robach during the final episode if he would recommend other couples film their fights, Holmes quickly replied, “Hell no!”

The host then admitted that their feud “sparked at least one, maybe two other” fights during the podcast. “If you’re not already in a good place, it sets someone up perfectly to be even bigger … – than they were during the actual fight, because nobody wants that person to say, ‘Yeah, I told you so or I was right.’ Nobody wants that,” he said.

“We weren’t listening to try to call each other out,” Holmes added. “We listened to it essentially as producers and listened through it. And absolutely, I was more upset about you listening to it than I was when we were actually in it.” “It upset me,” Robach replied. “I don’t think I ever want to film our fight again because if I angry, it’s like you get angry again or even angrier with time and space.”

“I didn’t like it! I didn’t like it,” added Holmes, who also revealed the pair had to listen to the podcast “at least five times”.

“We were essentially releasing the trauma,” he said.

Robach then explained that she thought Holmes “picked up on things that you didn’t like, and I said you didn’t pick up on them when we were having the actual discussion, so then there were more issues to deal with.”

“No, people don’t film your fights,” Holmes clarified, and Robach added that “ignorance is bliis.” “I’m thankful for my forgetful mind,” she laughed.

The latest episode of their podcast comes after the pair confirmed they are “still together” following a raw recording.

Speaking in a joint Instagram Reel posted on Tuesday, the duo walked hand-in-hand through the streets of New York and shared how they’re still going strong.

“We just wanted to check in and let you know that despite what you’ve heard, we’re still together,” Holmes said in the recording.

“We’re hearing from a lot of you on our latest podcast episode,” he continued. “It was something we really struggled with and debated whether or not we should even do it — but at this point I’m glad we did.”

Robach agreed, adding, “Our bigger goal in releasing the latest episode was to show that, yes, we like to show pictures of us smiling like everyone else and we’re laughing on social media, but if we want to be real and transparent we wanted to show everything sides of ours and I would say most relationships.”

“So we hope you all get something out of it and we hope you keep coming back,” she concluded.
