Schools in Tamil Nadu are closed on 13 November 2023 for Diwali
Schools closed in Tamil Nadu: Tamil Nadu state government declared a holiday for all government schools and colleges on November 13, 2023. The decision was taken by the state government after considering the welfare of students on Diwali which is celebrated on November 12 this year.
According to a notification issued by the state government, a one-day holiday has been declared on November 13, 2023, keeping in view the welfare of students, parents of teachers and other staff and employees who will be returning from their native places after celebrating Diwali on November 12, 2023. Please note that along with educational institutions, government offices will also remain closed on November 13.
The notification further stated that November 18, 2023 will be a working day to compensate for the announced Diwali holiday.
Closed schools in Delhi, Gurugram
Schools in the northern part of the country, including the capital, will remain closed until November 10, 2023 due to increasing pollution. Schools have been asked to remain closed for all classes except for students of class 10 and 12 which will be conducted in online mode.
On the other hand, schools in Gurugram will be closed from today, 7 November 2023, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) remains high in the district. The district administration has also given schools the option of holding online classes for students from nursery to 5th grade.
