Tan France started his career as a retail designer at Zara after graduating from university. He subsequently developed his expertise in design, delivery and wholesale manufacturing by working with major fashion brands such as Selfridges, Chanel and Bershka. France originally designed men’s clothing, but eventually switched to women’s clothing. In 2008, he began working in the United States while living in New York City. In 2011, Tan France opened his own fashion label “Kingdom & State”, having previously worked as a director at Shade Clothing. Shortly after 2015, he moved to the United States. His brand incorporates clothing that adheres to Mormon clothing guidelines. He later created two less eye-catching clothing lines.
