In November 2023, Tanisha was booked by the Karnataka police for her comments about the Bowi community. An FIR was filed under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989, following a complaint by P. Padma, president of Ashila Karnataka Bowi community. Padma said in her complaint that Tanisha made controversial remarks about the Powai community during the November 8, 2023, episode of the reality show Bigg Boss Kannada (Season 10).
