Tanishka (NEET UG 2022 Topper)

Tanishka, an Indian student, topped the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2022, becoming the first-ever candidate to top the pre-med entrance exam in the OBC-NCL (OBC-Non Creamy Layer) category.

Tanishka was born on Wednesday, September 14, 2005 (age 17 years as of 2022) and she hails from Narnaul, Mahendragarh, Haryana. Her zodiac sign is Virgo. She started studying at Yaduvanshi Shiksha Niketan in Narnaul in second grade. In an interview, she talked about her studies and said that she was an average student earlier and started pursuing academic excellence in the eighth grade. She passed grade 12 in 2017. The 2022 score is 98.6% and the Class 10 score is 96.4%. When she was preparing for NEET-UG course in class 11 at Allen Vocational College, she moved to Kota, Rajasthan. Speaking about the institute, she said:

I have been a classroom student with Allen for the past two years. The atmosphere of Cota and Allen’s names was heard a lot. So, I decided to come to Kota to prepare for NEET. “

Tanishka’s father, Krishan Kumar, is a government school teacher. Her mother Sarita Kumari is also a government school teacher. Tanishka is the eldest of three siblings. She has a brother and a sister. As of 2022, her brother is studying in Class 3 and her sister is studying in Class 9.

NEET UG 2022

She secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 in NEET-UG 2022 with 715 marks out of 720. Her total score was 99.9997733, with 99.9673008 for Physics, 99.9965997 for Chemistry and 99.9885525 for Biology (Botany and Zoology). The exam will be held on July 17, 2022, and the results will be announced on September 7, 2022. Although three other NEET candidates, namely Vatsa Ashish Batra (Delhi), Hrishikesh Nagabhushan Gangule and Rucha Pawashe (Karnataka) secured the same marks as Tanishka, the National Testing Agency (NTA) did not jointly award the first rank to all Four. Taking advantage of the tiebreaker policy, NTA awarded the first position to Tanishka, the second position to Vatsa Ashish Batra, the third position to Hrishikesh Nagbhushan Gangule and AIR 4 to Rucha Pawashe.

  • Apart from her outstanding performance in NEET UG, Tanishka also performed well in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main, scoring an impressive 99.50 points.
  • She said in an interview that she chose to study medicine because “it’s a field where you can establish yourself by helping others.”
  • Talking about her future plans in an interview, Tanishka revealed that she wants to pursue MBBS from AIIMS, Delhi. She also revealed that she hopes to major in cardiology, neurology or oncology.
  • Tanishka’s grandmother died of cancer. Tanishka’s mother, who spoke of the incident with a heavy heart in an interview, said the incident encouraged Tanishka to become a doctor.
