Taraji P. Henson’s Glam 2024 Critics Choice Awards Gown Features the Most Daring Thigh-High Slit of the Night

Taraji P. Henson’s daring 2024 Critics Choice Awards red carpet look deserves its own award.

Purple star joined her co-stars on the red carpet, where she wore a stunning strapless white dress that hugged her curves. It featured a thigh-high slit and a dramatic train that gathered behind her on the carpet. She wore her hair in a chic updo and adorned with lab-grown diamonds from Pandora.

Although the 53-year-old was not nominated for her role as blues singer Shug Avery, her co-star Danielle Brooks was nominated for best supporting actress. The film was also nominated for the best film. Purple the actors have been supporting each other on the red carpet and at events since before the movie opened in theaters on December 25, and it seems they’re ready to stick by each other’s side throughout awards season.

For her part, executive producer Oprah Winfrey wore various shades of purple while promoting the musical. Meanwhile, the rest of the cast, including Henson, mixed things up with a variety of outfits in a full range of colors.

At the film’s Los Angeles premiere in early December, Henson wore a striking black dress with sheer inserts at the waist and large white detailing that started at her shoulders and wrapped around her neck and hips. The dress also had a plunging neckline. which she emphasized with a silver snake necklace.

On December 27, Henson shared a behind-the-scenes video of her vocal training for the role of Shug on Instagram. The Empire The alum used her post to thank her voice coach, Stevie Mackey, for helping her prepare for the role.
