Tarek El Moussa is enjoying sunny days on his boat after a few “bad decisions”.
In a series of videos and photos he shared on his Instagram Story on Sunday, Agile El Moussas star, 42, shared an inside look at his day at sea on his boat, Bad decisions. He was joined by two children, Taylor (13) and Brayden (8), who he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall (40). Friends of the family also joined the ride.
“Little boat day here in Newport. Beautiful outside, if you like cold weather,” he says in one shot as the boat cruises through the water.
In another shot of Taylor walking away from the ship after docking, he adds: “I’m spying on a teenager. She hates when I film her.” He then moves on to the name of the vessel and says: “Bad decisions. Dana Point Harbor,” referring to the location in Southern California where the ship docked.
He also shared another video as they sailed past Newport Beach, California as blue skies began to peek through the clouds in the background.

Name Bad decisions he got the vessel in 2017 after his divorce from Hall. It’s the same boat he camped on after the couple split in December 2016 (then named after the exes’ HGTV show, Flip or flop).
In his comprehensive memoir Turn your life around (published Feb. 6), El Moussa described a dark period following the highly publicized 2016 gun incident that led to his split with Hall. He recalled hiding out on his boat and drinking himself unconscious to cope with the collapse of his marriage.

The HGTV star writes about how stopping the anabolic testosterone he was prescribed after beating cancer twice, combined with excessive drinking, led to his friends finding him “passed out” on their boat one day.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE in January, El Moussa revealed that the weeks immediately following the split were “physical and emotional hell” for him. He eventually checked into a rehab facility where he spent two months being treated for testosterone addiction.

Although his ship may have carried some bad memories from the past, it also opened a new chapter in his life. It’s the same place where he met his current wife, Heather Rae, in 2019.
On the Fourth of July, Tarek was hanging out on his boat with some friends in Newport Beach when Heather jumped in after seeing her friend. When he saw her, he quickly went to talk to her and finally asked her out.

Tarek popped the question a year later and the couple married in October 2021. They welcomed their first baby together, a son named Tristan, in February 2023.
