Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes’ Friendship Timeline

Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes have become fast friends in recent months.

Amid the singer’s blossoming romance with Kansas City Chiefs player Travis Kelce, Swift has also grown close to the wives and girlfriends of her teammates, including Mahomes, who is married to quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

The duo were first photographed dining together in September 2023 ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Jets game, and were later seen hanging out at MetLife Stadium while sitting in a box with many of Swift’s famous friends.

It didn’t take long for the two to reconcile as they were later seen hanging out at other games, including one where they showed off their secret handshake.

Swift continued to bring Mahomes into her inner circle as they were seen grabbing dinner with some of the singer’s closest friends in New York, including Sophie Turner, Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid.

September 30, 2023: Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes dine together in New York

On September 30, Swift and Mahomes were photographed grabbing dinner in N.YC. at the Italian restaurant Emilio’s Ballato with Swift’s friends Sophie Turner and Blake Lively.

“They had dinner in a private room. Everyone was thrilled,” a source told PEOPLE about the outing. “Everyone got along and just laughed the night away with drinks and delicious food.” The group sat in the back room for over four hours, Brittany staying until 1am and Swift leaving a little after 1:30am.

After the dinner, Mahomes’ friend Miranda Hogue shared a photo of the group enjoying drinks together.

Although the outing marked one of their first public appearances together, Swift previously spent time with Mahomes at Kelce’s postgame party in Kansas City on Sept. 24.

As the Kansas City Chiefs took on the New York Jets and at MetLife Stadium, Swift brought along some of her A-list friends, including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and Sabrina Carpenter. In addition to taunting the players with Lively, the “Blank Space” singer was also seen chatting with Mahomes in the box.

While Swift traveled to Kansas City to cheer on Kelce, she sat with Mahomes in Kelce’s box at Arrowhead Stadium. During the match, they were seen excitedly cheering for their partners, and at one point they hugged each other after one of the plays.

Swift and Mahomes continued to show off their sweet bond as they sat in Mahomes’ suite at the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers game. The NFL released a video couple laughing and dancing as they cheered on the Chiefs. Swift was seen with a drink in hand, while Brittany held her son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III on her hip.

During the second quarter, Swift and Mahomes were shown celebrating the game by debuting a secret handshake, which the NFL handed out in video posted on X. The two began by slapping each other five times on the front and back of the arms, before grabbing hands and bumping each other’s hips. In another version, they topped it all off with a jumping chest kick.

As Swift fell 1989 (Taylor version), she sent a handful of her closest friends a special blue cardigan in honor of the date. Mahomes shared a cute photo of her cardigan on her Instagram Story, captioning it, “#Taylor’s version.”

November 4, 2023: Taylor Swift goes out to dinner with Brittany Mahomes and friends in NYC

In early November, Swift and Mahomes had another bachelorette party as they joined some of the singer’s closest friends for the evening, including Turner, Gomez and Hadid.

The group was photographed at the Bond St restaurant, with Swift holding hands with Gomez and holding Mahomes’ hand, while Turner and Hadid walked behind them. The restaurant even reposted the video to its Instagram Story later in the evening, showing the group leaving the venue amidst a group of onlookers.

November 5, 2023: Taylor Swift hangs out with Brittany Mahomes at a Kansas City Chiefs watch party

Swift and Mahomes partied the following night as the singer hosted a Kansas City Chiefs viewing party at her New York apartment with a handful of teammates’ wives and girlfriends. After his exit, Mahomes shared several photos from the night on Instagram, including one of him toasting with a bubbly drink.

December 1, 2023: Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce hang out with Patrick and Brittany Mahomes at a holiday bar

In early December, locals spotted Swift and Kelce at the Miracle pop-up bar in Kansas City, where the Chiefs were hosting a party. Mahomes and her husband were also present at the event, where they donned matching reindeer jumpsuits. Mahomes shared a cute photo of her and Patrick in holiday gear on Instagram with the caption, “Falalalalalalalalala🎄.”

As the photos circulated online, one Chiefs fan on X claimed that Swift and Kelce wore matching holiday sweaters, in keeping with the theme of the party, which featured a squirrel — a comedic reference to one of Kelce’s now-viral old tweets in which he misspelled the word.

Swift and Mahomes were once again spotted cheering in the box as they watched the Kansas City Chiefs take on the Green Bay Packers. Mahomes was seen wearing an oversized NFL jacket, while Swift wore an oversized red Stella McCartney red coat.

After the game, Mahomes shared a sweet photo of her and Swift with their friend Lyndsay Bell, whose husband is Kansas City tight end Blake Bell, standing in their suite while wearing matching red and black combos.

December 17, 2023: Brittany Mahomes hangs out with Taylor Swift and her dad at a Chiefs game

Mahomes was seen cheering on Swift and her father Scott as they attended the Kansas City Chiefs-New England Patriots game in December. At one point during the game, Swift was seen lifting Mahomes into the air as they reacted to one of the plays.
