Taylor Swift and Céline Dion Shut Down Fan Uproar, Embrace Backstage After 2024 Grammys Album of the Year Win

“Karma” is a hug from a fellow pop icon!

After Céline Dion presented the final award at the 2024 Grammys for Album of the Year to Taylor Swift for her 2022 project. Midnightthe pop superstar, 34, celebrated her win by hugging the pop icon, 55, backstage.

The two stars were photographed in a sweet embrace backstage at the awards show held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday. In the adorable snap, Swift draped her arm over Dion to place her hand on her shoulder and the two rested their heads on each other. They looked delighted to be tying the knot, as they were all smiles in a photo they took together.

With the “My Heart Will Go On” singer wearing a light pink dress, paired with a burnt orange coat, and the “Lavender Haze” singer in her white Schiaparelli corset dress, the two also had a slight twinning moment, as their looks and necklines thighs and with a beautiful, wrapped fabric.

Despite fan speculation on social media suggesting Swift ignored Dion when she accepted the coveted album of the year award amid her excitement at accepting the honor, the two appeared to be in good spirits backstage.

It was also a special moment for both musicians.

The “Anti-Hero” singer ended up making history by taking home the turntable for Album of the Year, as she is now the only female artist to ever win Album of the Year four times. (Midnight, Fearless, in 1989 and Folklore they all won a prize.)

While accepting the award, she said: “I wish I could tell you that this is the best moment of my life. But I feel this happy when I finish a song or when I crack the code to a bridge that I adore or when I’m shot scrolling through a music video or when I practice with my dancers or band or I’m about to go to Tokyo for a performance.”

“For me, the reward is the work,” continued the 14-time Grammy winner. “All I want is to continue to be able to do this. I love it so much. It makes me so happy. It makes me incredibly happy that it makes some of the people who voted for this award happy too. All I want to do is keep doing this. So thank you Thank you for giving me the opportunity to do what I love so much.”

As for Dion, the Grammys appearance was her first public appearance in months amid her health issues.

She surprised and delighted the A-list crowd when she graced the stage at the Crypto.com Arena to present the final award of the night, receiving a standing ovation.

“Thank you all, I love you back. When I say I’m happy to be here, I mean it from the bottom of my heart,” said the Canadian star, who was diagnosed with the rare and incurable neurological disorder Stiff Person Syndrome (SPS) in 2022. She also told the crowd that they “never take for granted” the joy that music brings.

Swift’s big night at the 66th Grammy Awards also included a win for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnight. During her acceptance speech for her first win of the night, she also delighted her loyal Swifties by announcing that her 11th studio album is on the way.
