Taylor Swift Says She’s ‘So Moved’ by Single Mother’s Post on TikTok: ‘Reminds Me of Me and My Mom’

Taylor Swift is addressing a fan who shared an emotional post about her on TikTok.

On Thursday, the 34-year-old pop superstar posted a sweet comment on a video from mom Swiftie, where Swift said she was “so touched” by the woman’s words.

Posted on Wednesday, the TikTok showed a woman with the hashtag @saywhaaat breaking down in tears as she talked about the impact the “Cruel Summer” singer had on her and her young daughter.

“Hey Taylor, I’m Jenny. I’ve been a fan forever. We’re the same age, so I grew up with you. You saved my life growing up,” the woman said after explaining to followers that the video was for Swift.

She continued: “And now I have a 9-year-old daughter who is… everything. And she looks up to you in everything, and your song ‘Mean’ helps her get through the bullies at school. She’s taken over the reins as #1 Swiftie, and earlier this year we talked about how good this year was. And she said ‘Mom, I had more fun with you this year than ever before.’ ”

The mum – who tagged Swift throughout the video and in her caption – went on to explain that the Grammy winner is the reason she and her little girl have had such a great year, describing how the two managed to catch the singer’s Eras Tour and watched the accompanying concert film five times in theaters, as well as renting the film, after Swift released it on streaming services on December 13 to mark her birthday.

“For my daughter to sit there and say, ‘I had the best year with you’… I’m a single mother; I work every day. It means a lot to me,” the mom explained, going on to say how much it made her love Swift even more and saying with a laugh that she would “take a bullet” for the singer, before discussing the influence the superstar has “behind the scenes.”

“I just wanted you to know that you changed my mother’s heart and brought my daughter and I closer together,” she said through tears before wishing Swift a Merry Christmas.

Many TikTok users commented on the post, which has more than 760,000 views so far, saying they hoped Swift had seen it — and on Thursday, the singer did respond with a sweet comment in the video’s comments section.

“You just reminded me of why this year has been so special,” Swift wrote and concluded by saying, “I’m so touched by what you said. It reminds me of me and my mom and the memories we made during those years.”

Swift has been open about her close relationship with her own mom Andrea in the past, including in her song “The Best Day,” which pays tribute to their relationship, and in a 2020 interview. Diversity.

“Everyone loves their mom; everyone has an important mom,” Andrea, who was undergoing cancer treatment and was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor, said at the time.

“But for me, she’s really the driving force. Almost every decision I make, I talk to her about it first. So obviously it was really important to talk about her illness,” Swift added.

Meanwhile, it’s been a really special year for the singer, who recently celebrated her 34th birthday with friends including Gigi Hadid, Blake Lively, Jack Antonoff and Zoë Kravitz in New York after wrapping up the final leg of her Eras tour in November Tour in Brazil, freeing her Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film and starting a romance with NFL tight end Travis Kelce.

Most recently, Swift supported Kelce, 34, at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass., on Sunday, where she watched his Kansas City Chiefs play the New England Patriots, even wearing a knit cap with her boyfriend’s jersey number, 87, stitched on.
