Among the singer’s favorite personal items in her New York home are gifts from music superstars and a photo of her opera singer grandmother
There are a few personal items in Taylor Swift’s New York apartment that really make her feel like home.
In an interview with Time for her Person of the Year 2023 cover, the singer lifted the lid on some of the sentimental decorations she keeps in her home, giving fans a glimpse into her life behind closed doors.
Swift, 33, told the outlet that among her favorite possessions is a photo of her grandmother Marjorie, who was an opera singer and inspired the song of the same name — and a fan favorite — on her 2020 album. Forever.
She is also the proud owner of a Stevie Nicks Barbie doll, which stays in its box and is in her kitchen. Swift said that the doll was sent to her by Nicks herself, who once told the magazine: “I don’t give Taylor advice about being famous.” She doesn’t need it.”

Joining Nicks in Swift’s house is a gift of sorts from another legendary singer-songwriter: Paul McCartney. She keeps a framed letter from the Beatles singer in her bathroom, she revealed.
Like Nicks, McCartney, 81, has previously praised Swift. He revealed to the BBC that she inspired him to write the lyrics for 2018’s “Who Cares” and said Rolling stone that he wanted to perform “Shake It Off” with her at Glastonbury before the festival was canceled due to the pandemic.
The last item he marked Time her favorite in the apartment are the tiles that decorate the fireplace, which she found while shopping with her mother Andrea in Paris. She said of her relationship with her family: “My dad, my mom and my brother come up with some of the best ideas of my career.”
She added: “I always joke that we are a small family business.”

New York has long been the place the twelve-time Grammy winner has called home — and the source of inspiration for her music — since moving to the city in 2014.
Between 1989′with “Welcome to New York” and Lover“Cornelia Street”, Big Apple included in some of her favorite songs. The property that inspired the latter, her former West Village rental home, quickly became a hub for Swifties visiting the city.
Swift lived in the luxury townhouse in 2016, when her primary residence was undergoing renovations. She reportedly paid $38,000 a month to stay in the four-bedroom, five-bathroom apartment, which also has two bathrooms with “dramatic double ceilings.”

Earlier this year, the unit was put up for sale for a whopping $18 million, though the listing is no longer available.
The apartment has three gas fireplaces, wooden floors and even has an elevator. The crown jewel of the unit, though, is its private indoor pool, which stretches over 30 feet. The area behind the pool opens to the outdoor courtyard.

When the “Cruel Summer” singer rented the room, it was owned by Soho House CEO David Aldea, who told Vulture it was love at first sight for Swift.
“She walked in and I’ll never forget this — she said, ‘Oooh, that’s so tricky,'” Aldea told the news outlet. “And in Taylor, that means ‘I like everything.’ She asked if she could rent not only the house but also my style. So towels and dishes and glassware and furniture and just kind of ‘Take your clothes and go.’ And I did. She was a real pleasure to deal with.”
