Haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate — but Taylor Swift always rocks!
The “Cruel Summer” singer was booed by New England fans at Sunday’s Chiefs vs. Patriots game while rooting for boyfriend Travis Kelce — and she handled the situation like a pro.
“‘Gillette Stadium is the happiest place on Earth’ – Taylor Swift,” read the message on the Jumbotron, before a wave of boos poured around the stadium.
In response, Swift, 34, calmed down by smiling, waving and blowing a kiss to the crowd, according to video split on X (formerly known as Twitter).
In her Time In an interview with Person of the Year 2023 earlier this month, Swift talked about the impact she’s had on the NFL and the newfound attention she’s received while rooting for Kelce, also 34, at his games.
Taylor Swift’s dad shared her birthday cake at the Chiefs Game with the suite next door — watch
“I don’t know how they know which apartment I’m in. The camera is about half a mile away and you don’t know where it is and you have no idea when the camera puts you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if they’re showing me 17 times or once,” she said. .
But “I’m just here to support Travis,” the “Karma” hitmaker added. “I have no idea if I’m showing off too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Her appreciation for the game itself has also evolved since she and Kelce started dating.
“Football is great, it shows,” Swift said cheekily. “I’m missing out on my whole life.”
And though she kept her cool during the whistles at Sunday’s game — which the Chiefs won 27-17 — the “Clean” singer became visibly upset by the referee’s call.
At the top of the third quarter, the tight end dropped a pass from Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes while Patriots cornerback Myles Bryant defended him on third down.

Afterward, Kelce raised his hands and looked at the refs, seemingly upset that they didn’t call Bryant pass interference, and Swift was just as upset.
After the call ban, the “Karma” singer, who was watching the match from her apartment, jumped to her feet and shouted something while pointing towards the field, according to a video shared by EPSN.
Later, after learning about Swift’s reaction to their game, Bryant says he wasn’t surprised by her enthusiasm.
“It’s a high-stakes game. People are really getting into it, so it’s cool,” he told PEOPLE. “It’s great that he’s in it.”
