Taylor Swift’s Book Sells 814,000 Copies in 2 Days, Sets Record for the Year

Taylor Swift is breaking records outside of music as well.

Winner of 14 Grammys Eras Tour Book sold 814,000 copies in its first weekend, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday, December 4, citing Circan. It is now the best-selling book of the week and the most successful release of the year by outlet.

Taylor Swift | Eras Tour book contains over 500 photographs and anecdotes from her record-breaking 20-month tour that spanned five continents.

The 256-page book is sold exclusively at Target for $39.99 and was released on Black Friday, November 29. Circana reports until Saturday, November 30 Diversity.

Swift’s first-week success was surpassed only by Barack Obama the promised land which was released in 2020 and sold 816,000 copies in its first week, according to the AP. While Swift’s book is available exclusively at Target, Obama’s presidential memoir has been sold at other outlets. Its first-week sales also included more days than Swift’s.

Swift announced the book of her historic tour during Good morning America segment on October 15.

“Here is the official retrospective of the most amazing tour of my life, my beloved Eras Tour,” the “Fortnight” singer, 34, said at the time, according to the post. “Thank you to the fans who came to this show. You made The Eras Tour what it has become.”

Inside the book’s cover, Swift wrote a special message to her fans reflecting on her journey.

“I’ll never forget the call when I explained my concept idea for The Eras Tour to my team,” she wrote, adding that the feat made her “more disciplined and committed to my health, fitness and endurance” than ever.

After greeting her “amazing crew, band, singers and dancers who all matched my commitment to the sheer scale and challenge of this show,” Swift turned her attention to her fans who attended the sold-out concerts.

“We do this because life comes in waves, in phases, in brilliant bursts of magical moments, and all these things come together to create… Eras,” she wrote. “Here is the official retrospective of the most amazing tour of my life, my beloved Eras tour.”
