Yee was walking out when he took a moment to look around the stands, looking away from where he was going.
His instant fall saw him barely close to hitting the deck as he tripped over some floor.
Yee quickly regained his balance, avoiding an awkward moment in front of a packed stadium.
Fans were quick to tease the Team GB star after seeing he was fine.
On social media, one wrote: “Who did the risk assessment?”
While another suggested that carrying the flag was “a different kind of pressure” than competing in the games.
A third joked: “Alex Yee will be lying awake and unable to sleep in 2045 thinking about the time he tripped while carrying the flag at the closing ceremony in 2024.”
And a fourth wrote: “Let’s pretend we didn’t just see Alex Yee stumble carrying our flag.”

The Lewisham-born athlete secured bronze in the mixed relay triathlon and won gold during the men’s individual triathlon earlier in the games.
Yee’s golden moment was one of the most memorable this summer for Team GB, as he made a miraculous comeback to cross the finish line first in a grueling triathlon.
Flag-carrying partner Bryony Page won the hearts of the nation when she won the gold medal in the women’s trampoline gymnastics.
Page, 33, fell to her knees in shock and began to cry as her winning score flashed on the big screens in the arena where Simone Biles had stunned the artistic gymnastics world the night before.
Yee and Page won just two of an incredible 14 gold medals earned by GB this summer.
While the nation as a whole won an incredible 65 podiums.
Britain’s 14 gold medals have been won in 11 different sports, with rowing being our most successful event.
First places in the lightweight women’s doubles, women’s fours and men’s eights added three gold medals to the total.
Equestrian was the second most successful national sport after Team GB won gold in the team and show jumping events.
There have also been some incredible moments in athletics for British athletes.
Some nine events produced a silver or bronze medal in the national bag, with Golden Girl Keely Hodgkinson taking the top prize in the women’s 800m.
The bikes also proved fruitful for Team GB with the women’s team sprint winning track gold and Thomas Pidcock’s sensational late turnaround in the men’s cross-country mountain bike helping to secure a second cycling gold.
The men’s 4x200m freestyle relay was the only gold for Britain in the pool, while the last two first places went to Tony Roberts in climbing and Nathan Hales in men’s trap shooting.
Team GB legends from previous games contributed to the total with icons such as Tom Daley, Katarina Johnson-Thompson and Adam Peaty all winning silver.
