Teens, 18 & 16, killed in horror crash in woodland as boy, 16 & girl, 14, in critical condition

TWO teenagers were killed in a horrific accident in the woods where a boy and a girl were fighting for their lives.

Police were called to a country road in Haldon, near Exeter, Devon, at 1.20am following a one-vehicle crash involving a silver Peugeot 107.

Two teenagers died, and two are fighting for their lives.

An 18-year-old driver and a 16-year-old passenger died at the scene of the accident.

Two more passengers, a 16-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, are in critical condition.

A fifth person, a 16-year-old female passenger, was also injured, but not seriously.

Sergeant Phil Brown, from the Serious Collision Investigation Team, said: “Our thoughts are with the families following this tragic incident.

“We understand that the community will be concerned about this incident involving young members of our community.

“I want to assure the public that the police officers are investigating the circumstances that led to the collision, and we would especially like to talk to the witnesses we haven’t talked to yet.

The names of the dead and injured teenagers have not been released.
