India excluded from 2022 Commonwealth Games squad

He filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against the Athletics Federation of India (AFI) seeking participation in the 2022 Commonwealth Games. During two hearings, the court ordered the Athletics Federation of India and the Indian Olympic Association to include him in the Indian team roster for CWG 2022. However, Tejaswin came into the lineup as a substitute. In an interview, he talked about how he fought to be selected for the Commonwealth Games, saying:
There was so much going on around me that I could barely sleep. How do you motivate yourself to train when you’re not sure about the next game? My practice has also been affected. Athletes have to go to court to get their spots, which is not good for the sport. I’m very grateful to AFI for finally agreeing to let me join the team. I will have a good sleep today. ”
