Teri Hatcher Creates Over-the-Top Gingerbread Houses Every Holiday Season: 'I've Made a Gingerbread Chandelier' (Exclusive)

Teri Hatcher has an incredibly delicious — and architecturally impressive — holiday tradition.

The actress told PEOPLE she’s looking forward to creating the ultimate gingerbread creations during the Christmas season, revealing her baking skills while speaking at the It’s a Wonderful Lifetime Yuletide event in Los Angeles on Nov. 19.

“I’m definitely that person who’s in her kitchen, baking and baking and baking and baking, and has Christmas movies on basically 24 hours a day in the background,” says the 59-year-old.

These gingerbread structures “are usually pretty extravagant,” Hatcher says. “My rule about gingerbread is that everything has to be edible. You can’t cheat at all.”

Hatcher likes to set challenges and says she’s made a gingerbread chandelier (photos of which she shared in 2018), a church and a Barbie dream house.

“She’s definitely learned a lot about cooking from me and she likes to cook herself, but when it comes to baking, gingerbread is always a pretty big problem,” Hatcher tells PEOPLE.

But as for this year’s edible creation, Hatcher says she hasn’t decided yet.

“I really loved the Barbie house and I’ve been really into Lego lately,” Hatcher says.
