Ahsoka Season 2 Will Introduce Young Ben Solo… & A Recast Leia
Ahsoka Season 1 Pulled Off A Leia Explanation, But That Inevitably Must End
Leia Organa

Rebel Alliance, New Republic, Resistance
Ahsoka season 1 managed to work around the absence of Princess Leia on screen by having C-3PO deliver a message from her. While this was a smart, respectful way to handle the death of Carrie Fisher and the lack of another Princess Leia, it can only work for so long. Princess Leia—or Senator Organa—was extremely important at this point in the Star Wars timeline. It’s conceivable that perhaps she was busy for that one meeting or for a few events, but as the New Republic Era continues to be explored, Leia’s absence will make less and less sense.
As the New Republic Era continues to be explored, Leia’s absence will make less and less sense.
Not only shows like Ahsoka season 2 but also movies such as the upcoming The Mandalorian & Grogu movie are diving deeper into the events between Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and that means a new Leia actress must be brought on. However, that is a very exciting possibility for Ahsoka season 2. While Leia was played beautifully by Carrie Fisher, she didn’t get much screen time as a senator; this could fix that. Moreover, Ben Solo was a child during Ahsoka, so he could make an appearance alongside his mom.

Flashbacks Will Finally Show A Live-Action Kanan Jarrus
Between Hera, Jacen, And Ezra, Kanan Is Too Important To Ignore In Ahsoka Season 2
Kanan Jarrus
Created By
Dave Filoni
Cast
Freddie Prinze Jr.
Alias
Caleb Dume
The death of Jedi Kanan Jarrus in Star Wars Rebels was brutal in part because he was one of so few remaining Jedi. However, he was also a very beloved character, and he was a true friend to all members of the Ghost crew. Given the amount of overlap between the cast and characters of Ahsoka and the cast and characters of Rebels, it would make sense for Kanan to appear in flashbacks or in some other way in Ahsoka season 2.
Particularly as Ezra Bridger was his Jedi apprentice and Kanan has a son, Jacen, with Hera Syndulla, his return would make sense. In fact, as Jacen has already demonstrated incredible ability with the Force in Ahsoka season 1, a father and son Force connection of some kind would be another incredible option. This would also mean bringing Kanan to live-action for the first time, which would be thrilling.

Ahsoka Season 2 Can Finally Reunite The Full Ghost Crew
Zeb Orrelios Hasn’t Returned To His Crew… Yet
Kanan isn’t the only member of the Ghost crew that is currently missing, however. Zeb Orrelios, also called Zeb, was a Lasat Rebel during the Rebels show, but he separated from the group at the show’s end. Interestingly, Zeb has actually been shown in live action before; he made a surprise cameo in The Mandalorian season 3. Although his role in the show was not major, this suggests that Zeb is active during this era and could certainly return in Ahsoka season 2.
This would be particularly exciting given Ezra and Zeb’s relationship. The two were highly antagonistic towards one another from the moment they met, but that developed into a friendship and affection for one another over time. Zeb was no doubt devastated when Ezra disappeared in the Rebels finale, so it would be nice to know that Zeb is aware of Ezra’s safe return.

Ezra Bridger Will Take Kanan’s Son As His Padawan
Jacen Syndulla Has Already Shown An Aptitude With The Force, And He Has The Perfect Master
One of the most exciting possibilities for Ahsoka season 2 is the opportunity for Ezra to take Jacen Syndulla on as his Jedi apprentice. Although Ezra has been trapped on Peridea for years, it’s clear he hasn’t lost his abilities with the Force. Instead, he seemed to use them effortlessly when he and Sabine were working to escape the planet together. He’s also plenty old enough to take on a Padawan learner, and Jacen is the perfect fit.
In Ahsoka season 1, Jacen incredibly taps into the Force so effectively that he is able to hear the lightsaber battle between Ahsoka and Anakin Skywalker in the World Between Worlds. When Hera reveals this to Ahsoka, Ahsoka is clearly impressed, smiling and saying, “you did?” incredulously. It’s clear that Jacen could be incredibly powerful with the Force if trained. This would also be a beautiful full-circle moment, as Jacen would be carrying on Kanan’s legacy, and Ezra would get to train his own Jedi master’s son.

Ahsoka Season 2 Will Reveal Secrets Of The Mortis Gods
The Father, The Son, And The Daughter Could Make An Appearance
The Star Wars Mortis Gods have become extremely popular and fascinating figures since their debut in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. In The Clone Wars, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Ahsoka become trapped on Mortis, the planet the gods inhabit. The Father, the Daughter, and the Son then drag the trio into their complex dynamic, wherein the Father must keep his children in balance. However, the Son, who represents the dark side of the Force, ultimately kills his sister, who represents the light.
This moment was critical in Ahsoka’s story arc because the Daughter transferred the last of her life force to Ahsoka as she died. While Ahsoka isn’t aware of this, as her memory was wiped along with Anakin’s and Obi-Wan’s, this nevertheless establishes a significant connection between Ahsoka and the Mortis Gods. Moreover, Baylan Skoll was clearly seeking more information about the gods in Ahsoka season 1, signaling that more about the Father, the Son, and the Daughter is coming.

A Din Djarin & Grogu Cameo Would Fit Well With Ahsoka Season 2
With The Mandalorian & Grogu On The Way, Din Djarin And Grogu Would Fit Perfectly Into Ahsoka Season 2
Although the exact timelines are yet to be clarified, Ahsoka season 2 and The Mandalorian & Grogu presumably take place at similar times. Moreover, in The Mandalorian season 3 ending, Din Djarin agreed to assist the New Republic. Given that Grand Admiral Thrawn has been unleashed upon the Star Wars galaxy, there is likely no better time than now for the Mandalorian and Grogu to get involved. They would also be more likely to lend a hand, as the duo have an established relationship with Ahsoka already.
Ahsoka and The Mandalorian also share a key character who could signal that this overlap is coming. Carson Teva, a Rebel pilot, was featured heavily in Ahsoka season 1, assisting Hera with locating Ahsoka when she was in the World Between Worlds and helping Hera navigate tensions with the New Republic senators. However, Teva actually debuted in The Mandalorian, and he was the very person who offered Din Djarin a job with the New Republic. Teva therefore represents a direct link between Hera and Din Djarin, setting him up to ask Din Djarin for help fighting Thrawn.

Baylan’s Mysterious Quest Can Introduce Abeloth To Star Wars Canon
One Terrifying Legends Character Can Finally Join Canon
Baylan Skoll
Created By
Dave Filoni
Cast
Ray Stevenson

Dark Jedi
Alongside the return of the Mortis Gods, Ahsoka season 2 could see the introduction of Legends villain Abeloth. Abeloth was a terrifying figure in Legends, more powerful even than the Sith, and she represented such an incredible threat that she had been imprisoned by the Mortis Gods themselves. Notably, Abeloth was also the Mother, meaning that she would fit in perfectly with the return of the Mortis Gods. In fact, Ahsoka season 1 set up the introduction of Abeloth, making this theory more than plausible.
Particularly Baylan Skoll’s mysterious quest in Ahsoka season 1 could be a search for Abeloth, which would spell significant trouble for the entire galaxy. While Thrawn is seemingly the main villain in Ahsoka, he could be a red herring, intended to make audiences believe he is the major antagonist of the show just for someone even more frightening to swoop in. Thrawn’s potential threat would pale in comparison to the grave danger that Abeloth would mean for Star Wars.

Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost Will Return (Again)
After Appearing On Peridea In Ahsoka Season 1, Anakin Skywalker’s Force Ghost Has Work To Do
Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader
Anakin Skywalker’s return in Ahsoka season 1 was absolutely thrilling. Although he and Ahsoka had seen one another since his turn to the dark side of the Force, their reunion was overshadowed entirely by the fact that Anakin was still Darth Vader. In that sense, it didn’t feel like a reunion at all. However, in Ahsoka, Anakin appears twice as himself. In the first encounter, Ahsoka enters the World Between Worlds and must confront her past in the Clone Wars. However, Anakin ultimately transitions into Darth Vader, making it somewhat unclear exactly who or what he was in those scenes.
In the final episode of Ahsoka, however, Anakin returns as his true self in Force ghost form. With Ahsoka and Sabine trapped on Peridea, Anakin appears, looking down upon the master and apprentice. This in particular could open up the possibility of Anakin’s return. As a Force ghost, Anakin will have significantly more autonomy. In fact, Star Wars has only given Force ghosts increasing abilities over the years, meaning that there could be a much more significant connection between Anakin and Ahsoka in Ahsoka season 2.

Shin Hati Will Team Up With Sabine Wren and Ahsoka Tano
Without Her Master, Shin Might Be More Willing To Align With The Heroes
Shin Hati

Dark Jedi
Shin Hati’s debut in Ahsoka season 1 was met with significant enthusiasm. Although she is a new character, she became a fast favorite, with many pushing for her to unite with Sabine and Ahsoka rather than remain in opposition to them. Now, Shin has a very real opportunity to do so in Ahsoka season 2.
Shin was already presented as someone who was more morally gray than flat out evil; she and her master, Baylan Skoll, are both considered dark Jedi, not Sith. This means that she may be more receptive to working alongside Ahsoka and Sabine even if it doesn’t mean a full turn to the light side. This seems even more likely in light of Baylan separating from Shin toward the end of Ahsoka season 1 and, sadly, given that the death of Baylan Skoll actor Ray Stevenson leaves the future of master and apprentice somewhat in question.

Ezra Bridger Will Lead Attempts To Rescue Ahsoka & Sabine
Ahsoka and Sabine Are Now Trapped On Peridea, But Ezra Knows The Way
With Ahsoka and Sabine now trapped on Peridea as Ezra had once been, they will presumably need to be rescued. While Ahsoka seems at peace with what has taken place, the threat of Thrawn’s intention to restore Imperial power no doubt means that the two Jedi will be essential in the galaxy’s next war. In an ironic twist, that may mean Ezra heading back to the planet where he was trapped to rescue them.
Whether that will be his objective remains to be seen, however. It’s true that Ahsoka seems to be in no rush to escape the planet, and her future in Star Wars remains unclear. While it may be bleak, it’s possible that Ahsoka won’t leave Peridea at all; she could even die saving the galaxy from Abeloth if Abeloth is indeed introduced as a villain in Ahsoka season 2. If Sabine and Ahsoka are to be rescued, however, Ezra would be the ideal candidate given his history with the planet.

Grand Admiral Thrawn Will Bring War To The Star Wars Galaxy
Thrawn Is Returning To The Star Wars Galaxy As A Brand-New Threat
Grand Admiral Thrawn
Created By
Timothy Zahn

Star Wars: Heir to the Empire

Chiss, Empire
One of the most likely theories about Ahsoka season 2 is that Thrawn will successfully launch a new war upon the Star Wars galaxy, bringing ex-Imperials and Imperial sympathizers together to fight against the New Republic. The opening text for Ahsoka season 1 even references the threat of a new war, suggesting this is coming. Of course, no mention is made of another major galactic war in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, so it would be interesting to see how that might play out and how Star Wars might explain that gap in the sequel movies.
While updates on Ahsoka season 2 do remain very tightly under wraps, there are nevertheless innumerable thrilling opportunities. As a TV show set in a yet unexplored period in the Star Wars timeline, Ahsoka has the ability to introduce entirely new characters, tensions, and plotlines. Nothing is confirmed, but these 11 theories in particular reflect the most exciting possibilities for the upcoming Ahsoka season 2.
