Chandrashekhar Guruji (1965-2022) was a popular Indian customs expert, businessman, and television personality. He was stabbed to death by two men at a private hotel in Hubballi district of Karnataka on July 5, 2022.

Chandrashekhar Virupakshappa Angadi was born on Sunday, August 8, 1965, in the Bagalkot district of Karnataka, India (age 57 at the time of death). His zodiac sign is Leo.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. He also holds a PhD in Architecture. He was determined to serve the country since he was a child. After graduating from high school, he participated in the army selection, but was rejected during the physical examination because he was underweight. In 1989, after completing his formal education, he moved to Mumbai where he started his career as a civil engineer.
In 1998, he was defrauded of Rs 1.5 million in business. Soon after, he was defrauded out of Rs 20 lakh again. It was then that the compass and house plans began recurring in his dreams. In 2000, he had a revelation and his intuition led him to combine his architectural wisdom with Vastu Shastra; Vaastu is an ancient Indian building science that helps create a comfortable environment with the goal of growth and development. Thereafter, he began to observe the way houses were built and the life problems faced by the family members who lived in them.

Guruji started his career by being appointed as an engineer with a construction company in Mumbai. Later, he quit his job and started his own construction company.
After suffering two major losses in his business, he became a Feng Shui expert. In 2002, he founded CG Parivar Private Limited. CG Parivar Group is the parent company operating under CG Parivar, ManavGuru, Saral Vaastu and CG Parivar IT Solutions Private Limited (CGPITS). Saral Vaastu and ManavGuru specialize in the field of Vaastu Shastra, while CGPITS is an IT solutions company that provides services such as consulting, digital marketing and content development. Apart from India, ManavGuru has branches in the United States, Singapore and Canada.
Chandrashekhar Guruji gained popularity after he started giving Feng Shui advice on television. His show “Saral Vastu” is aired on Kannada channels Public TV and Namma TV, Gujarati channel TV9 Gujarati and Marathi channels Jai Maharashtra, TV9 Marathi, Zee Marathi and Zee 24 Taas.
In 2014, he started a YouTube channel with the same name as his show. In the channel, he shares architectural measures on how to balance the universal energy in a place of growth and prosperity and eliminate various life problems. He coaches his followers on a wide range of topics including business, new construction, education, career, wealth, marriage, relationships, and health. As of 2022, his channel has 12.9k followers. In addition to the channel, he also launched a mobile app of the same name. On January 19, 2013, he became a director of A1 Polytrade & Mfg Private Limited, a manufacturer of rubber products. On October 4, 2012, he became a director of C Guruji Infrabuild Private Limited, a company engaged in building construction. Apart from this, he is also the Designated Director of CG Parivar Solutions LLP and the Additional Director of CG Parivar Foundation and Research Centre. On February 19, 2016, the Kannada infotainment television channel Saral Jeevan (owned by CG Parivar Global Vision Private Limited) was launched, which broadcasts non-fiction programs focusing on mythology, history, travel and insights into Indian heritage and cultural insights.

Under the leadership of ManavGuru, Chandrashekhar initiated various charity projects such as Jeevan Samasya Mukt Gram, Shikshan Samasya Mukt Gram, Samuhik Vivaah and prevention of farmer suicides. He established a school for poor students in B. Shigigatti village in Dharwad district of Karnataka in 2018 under the Shikshan Samsya Mukt Gram scheme. Samuhik Vivaah specializes in organizing mass weddings for the weaker sections of society. The Farmer Suicide Prevention Initiative helps struggling farmers. In 2015, he adopted Godachi village in Belagavi district of Karnataka to promote social and economic development of the village. In August 2018, he launched Saral Education Abhiyaan, a mass public movement. Another movement he started was Manava Abhivruddhi Abhiyaan. He is the founding trustee of Sharansankul Charitable Trust.

In 2019, Suresh Namdeo More, a resident of Dnyaneshwar Nagar in Maharashtra, filed a complaint against Chandrashekhar Angadi with the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, claiming that he had suffered huge losses due to Saral Vaastu services. The complainant claimed that he purchased astrology products worth Rs 10,000, which included crystals, tortoise shells, pyramids, mirrors, etc., for the growth and prosperity of his family, but they met with a serious accident resulting in the death of his family members. The complainant’s wife and father. However, the Redressal Commission held that growth and prosperity depend on a person’s subjective satisfaction and cannot be assessed. Therefore, Chandrashekhar Angadi is not entitled to pay any compensation to the complainant.

On July 5, 2022, at 12:23 pm, Chandrashekhar Guruji was stabbed to death by two men named Manjunath Marewad and Mahantesh Sirur at a private hotel in Hubballi, Karnataka, where he had come to attend the funeral of his family’s children. Horrifying CCTV footage has emerged on the internet and in the media showing two men repeatedly stabbing Guruji in the body in full view of the hotel reception. Apparently, the accused, who hails from Dhumavad village in Kalghatji taluk, was posing as a devotee while waiting for Chandrashekhar Guruji in the reception area. As soon as Guruji sat on the chair, one of the men touched his feet and sought blessings, while the other started stabbing him with a knife hidden in a white cloth. Later, the body was sent to KIMS Hospital for autopsy. After the murder, the murderer fled the scene after the crime and was arrested in Ramdug, Belagavi, Karnataka.
The reason behind the murder
Manjunath Marewad and Mahantesh Sirur, former employees of Chandrashekhar Guruji, admitted that they murdered him over a property dispute. Chandrashekhar runs a real estate business and builds houses and apartments as per Feng Shui. He reportedly held excessive assets in the names of his employees under the guise of his own business. One of the employees was Mahantesh Shirur, who resigned from Saral Vastu in 2016. Thereafter, Guruji forced Shirur to return assets worth crores of rupees, which prompted Shirur to murder Guruji. Shirur’s wife Vanajakshi, who worked at Saral Vastu from 2005 to 2019, was detained by the police for a while but was soon released. Addressing the media, Vanajakshi said,
Guruji was a good man and my husband made a mistake by killing him. There were no disputes between us over financial matters. I did not know that Guruji’s property was in my husband’s name. He has not returned home for the past four or five days. When I asked him, he said he was busy. “
